Finding Purpose
At some point, every person searches for meaning and wonders what their purpose in life is. The Bible tells the story of a man who had everything his heart desired. But when the dust all cleared, he realized that nothing he had possessed, accomplished, or achieved had any meaning without a close, personal relationship with God.
"But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless. It was like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere."
-Ecclesiastes 2:11, The Holy Bible
This man found that the great pleasures of this world yielded no lasting satisfaction, so he offers the remedy:
"Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and no longer enjoy living."
